Hello!  My name is Mike Wharton.  This will be my sixteenth year of teaching, however it will be my first year teaching at MASD.  For the past 14 years I taught Health and Physical education at the middle school level for the Harrisburg School District.  Before teaching in Harrisburg, I taught one year of elementary Health and Physical Education for the Shenandoah Valley School District.  I am very excited to bring my love for teaching Health and Physical Education to MASD!

 

I am a 2006 Graduate from Lock Haven University where I received my Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education.  I went on to receive my Master's in Education from Wilkes University in 2012.

 

I am originally from outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, but I now live here in Mechanicsburg with my wife Kelly (3rd grade teacher at Upper Allen), 10-year-old daughter Emma, 8-year-old daughter Taylor, and our 2-year-old dog Maggie.  In my spare time, I love doing all things outdoors, especially bass fishing, hunting, and spending time at our family cabin.  I also love watching all Pittsburgh sports teams as well as LSU (Geaux Tigers)!
