On Friday, we welcomed some very special guests from Mechanicsburg Middle School - Mrs. Leggore’s 8th Grade English Class! 👏📖
Our visitors brought their self-created biography children’s books and shared them with our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade Wildcats. 🐾💛 From page to page, our younger students were captivated - listening, learning, and being inspired by these talented young authors. 👀📚
Meanwhile, our middle schoolers stepped into the role of mentors, storytellers, and role models, building meaningful connections across grade levels. 🤝🌟
What a powerful experience for everyone involved - proof that writing can inspire, connect, and make a lasting impact! 💡📝

There was a new principal leading the way at Shepherdstown today—Mr. Gabe Leasure! From making important school decisions to visiting classrooms and checking in with students and staff, Mr. Leasure took his role seriously and made his presence known all around the building. 🏫📋
Whether it was offering thoughtful input, lending a helping hand, or keeping things running smoothly, he showed what it means to lead with confidence and care! 💼👏

Mrs. Goldsborough’s 2nd grade class celebrated the culmination of their poetry unit in style today! Students enjoyed a delightful “tea party” where they shared their original poems with classmates.
Dressed for the occasion, our young poets brought both creativity and confidence as they read their work aloud, smiling, and supporting one another along the way. 💬📖

Huge thanks to Mrs. Topper 🧠 (Elmwood School Counselor), Mr. Underkoffler 🎓 (Elmwood School Principal), and our former Shep students 👏 (4th grade leaders!) for visiting our 3rd graders!
Your guidance 💬 and encouragement 💡 helped our Wildcats feel confident and excited for the next step! 🐾

A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Miller for everything she does each and every day to keep our school running smoothly. From supporting students and staff to handling a million details behind the scenes, your dedication does not go unnoticed.
We are so grateful for you, Mrs. Miller! 🐾

🧦 HEY JEN, YOU KNOCKED OUR SOCKS OFF // Jen Foster, ELD Instructional Assistant at Shepherdstown Elementary School, recently went above and beyond by volunteering her own morning time to support a student who needed extra help with numbers.
With a full schedule already, Jen didn’t hesitate to step in. It is a small act that made a big difference. Her kindness, dedication, and commitment to our students truly embody what it means to be a Wildcat.
Thank you, Jen, for showing up in such a meaningful way for our learners. 💛

We’re excited to share that several of our Shepherdstown students were recognized this weekend for their accomplishments on the baseball field!
A big congratulations to the 9U Wildcats team for earning medals at the Diamond Dreams Tournament! 🥇👏

Our third grade Wildcats were on the move in PE! 🏃♂️🟣🟡
Students practiced cup stacking to build dexterity, coordination, and focus 🧠👏—all while racing against the clock ⏱️. Their challenge? Stack and unstack in under 5.5 seconds ⚡
There were lots of smiles 😄, determination 💪, and some friendly competition 🏁 as students tracked their times and pushed themselves to improve each round 📈
📱Check out Seesaw to watch their recordings and see these speed stackers in action! 🎥👀

Mrs. Locy’s class did an amazing job during our recent coin drive for Scholastic Books! 🪙📚 Their hard work and teamwork really paid off.
To celebrate, they enjoyed popsicles☀️🍧—a sweet reward for a great effort! Way to go, everyone!

Our 2nd grade Wildcats are working together and solving subtraction problems using number lines 📏 and hundreds charts 🔢.
We love seeing their thinking grow! 💡🐾

What a sweet way to celebrate our Wildcats’ hard work during the Kids Heart Challenge! ❤️💪
At our community meeting, students who completed Finn’s Mission (and were randomly selected) got the chance to pie some very brave staff members—Mrs. Lawler, Mr. Wharton, Mr. Castner (our PE student teacher), and Mr. Echelmeier! 😄👏
There were lots of laughs, big smiles, and plenty of whipped cream to go around! 🥧😂
We are so proud of our students for learning about heart health and giving back to such an important cause. 💙

From Egg to Chick: Learning Comes to Life! 🐣✨
Our first grade students in Mrs. Robison's Class have been exploring the question, “How do animals change as they grow?” 🐣✨
They’ve been learning all about different animal life cycles—and today brought some extra excitement! They got a special visit from chicks raised by our third graders during their embryology unit. Such a fun, hands-on way to see learning come to life!

🌍✈️ Wildcats Around the World! 🐾🌎
What an incredible day at Shepherdstown as our students traveled the globe during our Wildcats Around the World Expo!
Students explored 8 different countries, collecting stamps in their passports as they learned about unique cultures, traditions, and histories. Along the way, they participated in hands-on activities, asked thoughtful questions, and even sampled delicious cuisine from around the world! 🍽️✨
A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing parent presenters and tour guides who made this experience possible. Your time, creativity, and passion brought each country to life for our students. This event would not have been the same without you! ❤️
It was truly a day of learning, connection, and global exploration our Wildcats will never forget. 🌐🐾
Thank you to Tracy Panzer, MASD Communication Specialist, for taking some of the wonderful photos.

We’re excited to kick off our Wildcats Around the World event this Monday at Shepherdstown Elementary! These preview photos offer a sneak peek of the experience ahead.
Our students will “travel” from country to country with their passport, learning about cultures, traditions, and places from around the globe. We’re especially grateful for our presenters who will be sharing their knowledge and helping bring each destination to life.
We can’t wait to see our Wildcats explore, discover, and grow as global learners! 🌎🐾
