Mrs. Goldsborough’s and Mrs. Beard’s 2nd graders wrapped up their CKLA unit on The Birthplace of Democracy – Ancient Greece with a celebration on Friday! Students took part in a Mini Olympics, sampled Greek foods, and even met a Spartan visitor!
What an exciting way to bring history to life and celebrate all their learning! 🏅🍇⚔️💙

Our Wildcats are teaming up to show the Wildcat Way all around the school! For every 100 Wildcat Way tickets earned, we move a space on the Candyland board in the lobby.
Our schoolwide goal: 2,000 tickets!
If we reach it, we’ll celebrate together with a Game Day on Tuesday, November 25! 🕹️🎯♟️

Our Wildcats had a fantastic time last Friday celebrating the season with pumpkins, laughter, and fun classroom activities! 🏫🎉 A huge thank you to our teachers and families for helping make the fall parties so special! Check out some highlights!

Mr. Petrello’s 3rd graders are diving into opinion writing! Today, they’re sharing which animal they would like to be from their CKLA unit and giving reasons to back it up. 🦁🦉🐬
It’s amazing to see our Wildcats thinking critically and writing persuasively! 📝💡

Our Wildcats are creating, moving, and exploring in their specials classes!
🎨 In Art, students are weaving and adding colorful examples to their sketchbooks.
⚽ In PE, they’re building teamwork and staying active.

We love seeing our Wildcats learn in so many different ways! 💪✨

Did you know? Every morning, our school offers FREE snacks with breakfast - and everyone can grab them! 🙌
Even if your child already ate breakfast at home or isn’t hungry right away, they can still pick up Goldfish 🐟, Craisins 🍇, cheese sticks 🧀, fruit 🍌and more to enjoy later during snack time.
The best part? It’s completely FREE for every student! 💛 Thank you, MASD Food Service!

Today our Shep students and staff proudly wore orange to stand together against bullying and promote kindness.

Our first graders are exploring the human body this week! 🧠✨ Miss Gartner even wore the digestive system to show how food travels through our bodies! 🍎🥕💨 It’s so exciting to see their curiosity in action!

🚌 IT’S NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK // Every day, our amazing bus drivers safely transport our Wildcats — rain or shine, morning and afternoon, always with care. Thank you for the patience, smiles, and watchful eyes that keep our students safe.
🚨 Safety reminder: When a bus has its stop arm out and red lights flashing, all traffic must stop — in both directions. Through our enforcement program that equips each school bus with stop-arm cameras, law enforcement issued 131 citations in May and September to drivers who illegally passed stopped MASD buses.
Let’s all do our part to keep Wildcats safe. ❤️ Slow down, stay alert, and always stop on red!
📸: A student-made “World’s Best Bus Driver” sign — proudly displayed on the dashboard of one of our school buses.

Officer Mark visited Shepherdstown to provide safety presentations to each grade level today, helping our Wildcats understand the importance of trusted adults and how to stay safe this fall. 👮♂️🍁📚

🥪🔢 2nd Graders Tap Into Lunch! 🔢🥪
Our 2nd grade Wildcats are learning their lunch numbers and using them for the very first time on the PIN pad today! 🎉 Eventually, all students will learn their 6-digit PIN - our 3rd graders have already learned theirs. These numbers will be used at both breakfast and lunch, helping our little learners build independence one digit at a time. 🐾💚

Kosmo is showing his team spirit today, rocking his Philadelphia Eagles bandana, a special gift from Weston! 🙌 He joined Wildcats in their Eagles gear to spread smiles and positive vibes all around Shepherdstown. 🐾🏈 Our paw-some fan sure knows how to cheer in style! 💚🐶
