Say cheese, Wildcats! 😁 Today was Picture Day, and our students and staff were all smiles — even Kosmo! 📷✨

Our amazing 3rd grade Wildcats are building confidence, teamwork, and strength through Girls on the Run! 🏃♀️💖
Co-led by Mrs. Walker, Certified School Nurse, this group empowers girls to set goals, support one another, and discover the joy of movement. 🌟👟
We’re so proud of these inspiring Wildcats! 🐾💜

Second graders are currently learning about strategies to solve addition problems, and we know that learning combinations of 10 can help us! Fishing for 10 is a fun way to practice those combinations.
Ask your second grader what the combinations of 10 are!

Our 2nd graders have been exploring Ancient Greece in their CKLA unit! After reading all about the two famous city-states, Athens and Sparta, students used what they learned to write opinion pieces about where they’d rather live.
🎭 Athens: A place for learning, art, and democracy!
🛡️ Sparta: Known for strength, discipline, and bravery!
Students backed up their opinions with facts from their reading - just like real historians and writers. 💬🧠
Here are some pictures from Mrs. Goldsborough's class. We’re so proud of our Wildcats for thinking deeply, writing clearly, and sharing their voices! 🐾✨

This is sure to be a fun read!

Miss Cerio’s class had a blast at Corn Cob Acres on Friday, October 9! Our Wildcats had so much fun exploring and playing in the corn. 🍂🐾
See pictures below! 📸

On Friday, October 10, second graders explored the great outdoors on their trip to the MASD Environmental Center! Through hands-on activities and nature stations, they discovered more about plants, wildlife, and the environment around them. 🍂🔬

🐾 Our first graders wrapped up their first CKLA unit on Folktales and Fables with a celebration of storytelling and fun! Each class chose one of the fables they learned about and acted it out for their friends. 🎭 After all their hard work, the whole grade came together - popcorn in hand 🍿to enjoy watching everyone’s storytelling and acting skills shine! 🌟 #ShepPride #WildcatReaders #CKLA #FirstGradeFun

Our Pre-K and 1st grade Wildcats had an exciting visit from ZooAmerica on Friday morning! Students got to meet a snake, a turtle, and several other amazing animals up close during the presentation. 🐾
The smiles, curiosity, and “oohs and ahhs” said it all - what a wild and wonderful learning experience! 🌟

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week fun! 🔥🚒
Our students had an exciting visit from our local firefighters today! They got to see the fire trucks up close and learn about fire safety!
A huge THANK YOU to Upper Allen Fire Department for keeping us safe and teaching our Wildcats the importance of fire safety! ❤️🧯 #FirePreventionWeek #WildcatPride

🌞 Good Morning, Wildcats! 🌞
Every morning, our Wildcats begin with Morning Meeting 🐾—a time to build community, connect, and get ready for a great day of learning.
👋 Greeting – saying hello and making sure everyone feels seen
💬 Sharing – listening and learning from one another
🎲 Activity – having fun and working together
📜 Morning Message – focusing on the day ahead
At Shepherdstown, every student begins the day together because belonging and connection come first. 💙🐾

Students can start their morning at Shep with a free grab-and-go breakfast to enjoy in their classrooms. After that, they ease into the day with soft start games and activities. Smiles and laughter make every day a great start! 🐾

✨ Special Olympics Send-Off & Celebration ✨
🐾💜 Last Thursday, Shepherdstown students cheered on their classmates with a Wildcat Tunnel send-off before they headed to Dickinson College for the Special Olympics! 🎉 Our Wildcats did an amazing job participating in their events - we are so proud of you! 👏🌟

📖✨ Ms. Gartner’s 1st Grade Wildcats are diving into folk tales during CKLA! 🌍 They learned how stories are passed down through generations and discovered how Anansi the Spider 🕸️ is quite the clever trickster. 😏
